Travel can be unpredictable. To help ensure medical safety, our complimentary Medical Protection covers emergency medical situations during your trip. However, if you need to cancel before you depart or come home early, your expenses can be significant. To be financially protected against unpleasant surprises, we encourage all travelers to have a Comprehensive Travel Protection Plan. A reminder: your Protection Plan must be purchased within 21 days of initial payment to be covered for Pre-Existing Conditions or if you would like Cancel for Any Reason coverage (not available for NY and WA residents).

Medical Protection Plan

  1. Emergency Medical (Secondary)
    - Provides reimbursement for medical expenses if you require emergency treatment for a sickness or injury while on your trip.
    Pre-Existing Condition medical expenses incurred on the tour are not covered by insurance.
    Pre-Existing Condition means an illness, disease, or other condition during the sixty (60) day period immediately prior to the Effective Date of Your Certificate for which You, Your Traveling Companion, or a Family Member booked to travel with You: 1) exhibited symptoms that would have caused a typical person to seek care or treatment; or 2) received or received a recommendation for a test, examination, or medical treatment; or 3) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine. Item (3) of this definition does not apply to a condition that is treated or controlled solely through the taking of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or controlled without any adjustment or change in the required prescription throughout the sixty (60) day period before the Effective Date of Your Certificate.
  2. Emergency Evacuation
    - In the event of a sickness or injury during your trip, this benefit provides emergency transportation from the hospital you are first taken to the nearest hospital where approporiate medical treatment can be obtained.
    - Pre-Existing Condition emergency evacuation expenses incurred on the tour are not covered by insurance.

  1. Trip Cancellation
    Provides reimbursement up to the maximum benefit shown on the confirmation, for the cost of your non-refundable tour fee, and airline ticket if you cancel the trip for a covered reason*.
  2. Trip Interruption
    We will reimburse you, up to the maximum benefit shown on the confirmation of coverage if you or your traveling companion booked to travel with you, are prevented from continuing or resuming your trip due to covered reason*.
  3. Trip Delay
    Provides reimbursement up to the Plan maximum for covered additional expenses, if you are delayed for 6 or more hours, while in route to or from your trip due to a defined hazard such as delay of Common Carrier, traffic accident, weather, lost or stolen passports, travel documents or money, Quarantine, hijacking, unannounced Strike, natural disaster, civil commotion or riot.
  4. Missed Connection
    Provides reimbursement up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if you miss your cruise or tour departure, scheduled during your trip, that results from cancellation or delay, for three (3) or more hours, of all regularly scheduled airline flights due to Inclement Weather. Coverage is secondary to any compensation provided by a Common Carrier.
  5. Emergency Medical
    Provides reimbursement for emergency medical treatment if sickness or injury occurs while traveling.
  6. Emergency Evacuation 
    In the event of a sickness or injury during your trip, this benefit provides emergency transportation from the hospital you are first taken to the nearest hospital where appropriate medical treatment can be obtained.

These plans are underwritten by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Columbus, OH (CA COA #7032). In WA, coverage is underwritten by Nationwide Life Insurance Company, Columbus, Ohio and Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Columbus, Ohio.  Applicable to Policy forms NSIGTC 2000, NSHTC 2000, SRTC 2000, or state equivalent. There are certain restrictions, exclusions and limitations that apply to all services and coverages. Cancel for any reason is the highest level of travel protection. The included coverage is the same as the comprehensive plan above, but you will be covered for up to 70% of your trip costs for any reason, even if you change your mind. To qualify for CFAR coverage, your plan must be purchased within 21 days of making your initial deposit, and you must purchase coverage up to the full value of your trip cost.
